Alpenchalet Gosau

Being right beside the slope is a huge plus. The cottage has a lovely wood and stone interior, with wooden furniture throughout. It's fully equipped, including hot and infrared saunas and a ski room with a boot dryer. Every bedroom has its own bathroom and toilet.

The Wi-Fi wasn't good.

We only needed somewhere for two of us and our dog, so finding this roomy chalet by chance was a surprise. Before we booked, Harry was easy to reach and really personable, whether by phone or WhatsApp. He stayed quick to respond and did his best to make things work for us. We wondered if the website photos might have been touched up or old, but the house turned out just as lovely, clean, and spacious as pictured. From the terrace, with its rustic seating, fire pit grill, and jacuzzi, the view over the upper Gosau Valley and the Dachstein Mountains is breathtaking. We were there for a week in early October 2024 and loved our stay at Harry's Alpenchalet. Harry gave us a warm welcome, showed us around, and explained how to use things like the sauna, whirlpool, and fireplace. The house blends a rustic regional look with modern furnishings. The layout is well thought out, and a lot of it was made by hand. It had everything we could need and more, with plenty of supplies. There were just two of us, but the house could easily serve up to 10 without people needing to share plates or cups. Each room has its own bathroom, toilet, and shower, so there's plenty of privacy. We only used the ground floor, which was more than enough for us: a bedroom, bathroom and toilet, separate guest toilet, open living room with fireplace, kitchen, and another seating area. Downstairs there's ski storage, heating, a washing machine, a sauna and infrared sauna, a shower area, and four comfortable sauna loungers looking out at the Dachstein Mountains. Being right by the ski slope is another plus in winter. We were so comfortable we'd move in ourselves if we could, and we'd gladly come back.
