Gstehaus Wallmann

I was very disappointed by Ms. Wallmann’s attitude. I can’t speak much German, so I had to use English, and she kept sighing and acting impatient. I was surprised, since that’s no way to host guests, even if I’m a foreigner. It may be relatively cheap, but I’d rather pay more than put up with that attitude. Also, don’t rely on Booking for payment, they only take cash, not credit cards.

The room was far below what the website described. The bed was old and extremely uncomfortable, the sheets were dirty, and the fleece bed cover was unclean. There was a bad smell in both the corridor and bedroom. The room had a wash basin, but no soap, and the tap leaked all night, making an annoying noise. We could also hear loud flushing from the neighbouring room. The toilet was outside the room at the end of the passage. In February, the owners turned the heating off at night, making it very uncomfortable to go there. The narrow passage was stacked with towels and smelled unbearable. Breakfast was one cold semmel per person with coffee and one slice of cheese each, plus fruit jam. There were no other options, and nothing more was provided when we asked. The most annoying part was the owner, who was arrogant, hostile, and unfriendly. She didn’t seem to care when we told her about problems. She never said that payment had to be in cash, and there was no card machine, which is common elsewhere.

Breakfast was good, and the host was so friendly.

The place is pretty run-down, so I wouldn't recommend it. The host was nice, though.
