Wellnesshotel Engel

I’ve stayed at hotels in many countries, and Hotel Der Engel is among the best I’ve been to, easily in my top five. You’ll understand why as soon as you arrive.

The wellness area at Hotel Engel really impressed us. It has so much to enjoy, and we could properly relax and unwind. The staff made us feel welcome from the start, and looked after my wife especially thoughtfully since it was her birthday and she’s pregnant. Everyone was exceptional, with a warm, almost big-family feeling. We loved every moment of our first stay. Thanks for such a great time, we’ll definitely come back.

We keep coming back to Engel year after year. It’s the only place anywhere that we return to, and it’s become very hard to resist. The personal attention makes staying here a real joy. The staff are professional and incredibly attentive, ready to do just about anything you ask. Quality matters here, and they keep making improvements right away. You feel pampered in every way. Wishing Engel and the team all the best in 2025. Can’t wait to return!

The wellness spaces were a highlight of our great weekend at Engel hotel. There are several kinds of saunas, a lovely area to relax, and a great breakfast. It’s one of the most beautiful wellness hotels in South Tirol. Our experience in the restaurant was much less consistent. Some staff seemed stressed or less polite than others. On the second day, we came in wearing bathrobes and asked where we could sit. One server said the table on the aisle, where people walk through to the restaurant, was fine. As soon as we started lunch, someone else told us bathrobes weren’t allowed there. We were frustrated, especially since we’d discussed it in German. We weren’t the only ones affected, other guests had to move too. Friday’s buffet dinner had good meat, but the fish was a bit cold and the vegetables very salty. On the second evening, we waited over 30 minutes both for dinner and for the check. We arrived almost as the first guests and left close to last. We wondered if there was a staff management issue, perhaps too few staff or something else. Without these problems, I’d like to stay again.
