Ibis Graz

The receptionist was very friendly and the location is good, and the room had air conditioning. Still, our family room needs refurbishment badly. The curtains had lots of holes, and the bathroom was below Ibis budget level. Maybe the regular rooms are better, but I wouldn’t deliberately book a family room again.

The beds were comfortable, but we’d asked for two singles and got them pushed right together, so it was basically a double. Staff were friendly, though the person in the back office seemed a little inattentive. We paid 92€ for one night, with breakfast not included, and I don’t think the price matched what we got. The room wasn’t clean: streaks on the mirror, stains on the vanity, and mould in the shower. The furniture was quite old and worn, which might not usually bother me, but at that price I expected better.

The hotel is within walking distance of the city center and only a few meters from the main bus and train station, with a shopping mall beside it. We had a cozy, clean room, a great breakfast with lots of choices, and warm, wonderful service from all the staff. All in all, an amazing Ibis hotel, as usual with the Ibis / Accor brands ;)

It’s about 5 km from the center, so you’ll probably need a taxi for the old town, where most places are. If you’re staying nearby, there’s a pizzeria directly below, plus convenience stores and McDonalds in the central train station. The hotel is clean and quick, with no frills, and suits a business trip. Rooms are basic but clean, staff are friendly and attentive, and breakfast will keep you full. You can follow the day start below while you have your coffee. Even though it’s near the central train station, it’s quiet.
