The balcony was one of our favorite parts. Both rooms opened onto it, with a beautiful mountain view and plenty of fresh air and quiet to enjoy. The hotel is a welcoming, home-like base for relaxing away from the city or heading out to hike. There are lakes, waterfalls, and other scenic places a short drive away, and the roads are good. We visited in mid-July and felt the hotel offered fair value for its price. The website details were accurate, and the place was neat and tidy. Our two-room apartment worked well for a family with adult children. It was clean and cozy, with a roomy bathroom, wooden furniture, wardrobes, shelves, a table and chairs, and a TV in each room. The beds had soft, comfortable mattresses. Breakfast was included and tasty. We also ate dinner at the restaurant one evening, and it was delicious. Sitting on the terrace with traditional Tyrolean food and a mountain view was lovely. We especially liked the schnitzel, ribs, pizza, beer, and homemade lemonade. The staff were friendly and helpful, and speak German, English, and Czech if that's useful to you. The cable car right beside the hotel goes close to the mountain top, where there's a restaurant with panoramic views and trails to continue on. You can also drive to the top. The views over the town and valley on the way are breathtaking. A great spot for exploring the mountains by day and coming back somewhere cozy to recharge. Recommended!

Katerina and the team made our group of 14 feel very well looked after, including four children aged 9 to 13. We had a range of comfortable, well furnished rooms, and most had balconies that were great to step out onto. Each evening they reserved a table big enough for all of us. Richard and Michela at the bar and serving tables were especially attentive, and the kitchen turned out fantastic food. There was something for everyone, and they were happy to make adjustments. With such a big group, Katerina even asked what we'd like for dinner on a few nights, then bought the ingredients so the kitchen could make a meal especially for us. The bar has local Zillertal beer on tap, cocktails, and popular and local spirits at reasonable prices. It's traditional Austrian style, with its own resident cat, Mimi, which adds to the family feel. The wellness area was a pleasant surprise for a small hotel, with a sauna, outdoor hot tub, steam room, and relaxation area. The kids could use it too, which was lovely after skiing. There's also a place to take off your boots, dry them, and store skis and poles. Pension Gemshorn is right beside the Gerlossteinbahn, handy for tobogganing and snow tubing, with a small ski area too. We also went farther afield, and the bus stop is right next to the pension. We had a fantastic stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We only stayed one night, but the staff were so welcoming and helpful that it felt like we'd been there all week. They make you feel like a guest, not just a customer. The rooms are nice, breakfast is tasty with lots to choose from, and dinner offers reasonably priced Austrian dishes along with a few Czech specialties.

The spa was a real plus, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms felt small, and I still don't understand why the beds in Austria are all doubles instead of twins. When you're away with friends, a bit of privacy would be nice. Meals were okay. I might come back.

This pension is clean, nicely equipped, and great value. The staff are very friendly, and the wellness area feels cozy. There are tasty vegetarian and vegan choices from the kitchen too. Wunderbar!
