Breakfast was great, and the staff were lovely. The room was modern and clean, with good Wi-Fi.

Clean, comfortable, and the welcome was friendly. The thin pillow and uncovered skylight kept it from getting five stars.

The place felt more like a government office than somewhere for a holiday. There’s no parking on site at all, so you have to walk to an underground garage or public parking. I was glad my company pays for accommodation, because otherwise I’d have looked for somewhere else straight away. The room was bare, with no decorations or pictures, and felt carelessly furnished. The website photos make it look much better than it is. Evenings were very dark, with energy-saving bulbs so weak they wouldn’t attract moths. The TV was smaller than my laptop screen, and I never felt comfortable in the room. Two LG items, presumably towels, were left on the “nightstand.” There was only about 5cl of shower gel, meant to last a week, and it wasn’t replenished, so I had to use my own. Luckily, I’d brought what I needed. The “restaurant” or breakfast room felt like a canteen and was completely unacceptable. My room could only be reached by stairs, steps, or landings, despite the hotel advertising wheelchair access. The staff showed little flexibility. I strongly advise against planning a stay here.

We were on the fourth floor, in a spacious room with high ceilings, wooden floors, two desks, a fridge, a TV, and a great bathroom. We had a fan, which was welcome, and the room didn’t get too hot after the rain a few weeks earlier. On request, they changed our towels and made the beds each day. The manager even remembered I wanted gluten-free breakfast and came to check with me personally. Breakfast had a generous choice, including gluten-free and lactose-free options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We could wash our laundry in their washing machine and dry it in the laundry room, a real bonus on a trip. Kolpinghaus Hallein is made up of three buildings joined together, and you can feel the history in them. It’s easy to walk there from the train, and there’s an elevator to the top. A bus stop and train station are nearby too. Four nights were good value, especially if you’re hiking and want to explore the area. Your service goes beyond what we expected, and it’s nice to see you supporting the students around you and helping them grow within the company. Keep it up, we’ll definitely be back.
