We loved how easy it was to get out into nature from the hut, with hiking and mountain bike trails nearby and ski resorts within easy reach. The hosts were kind and helpful, too. Inside, it’s cozy and has what you need to cook for yourselves, without any extra frills. A lovely quiet escape from everyday life. We’d happily come back.

The view and the quiet, tucked-away setting were lovely, and the cabin was rustic and simple, with clean rooms and a kitchen that had what we needed. Our dog was welcome, and there was always more firewood for the fireplace. It was a relaxing few days over Christmas, but we won’t return. The rooms were cold, which wasn’t a major issue, but the bathroom was too cold for showering a small child. I wouldn’t have wanted a baby in diapers there. We also had to take most of our rubbish home and sort out disposal ourselves in the valley. We weren’t told that a special card was needed, and only found out after driving down the mountain. We had to track down the collection points and their opening hours ourselves. It would have helped to get that information from the owner beforehand or see it posted in the cabin. They did let us leave our organic and general waste, but we took the rest back to Germany. The whole process was confusing and poorly organized. The Christmas decor could have used more care, even just a nice tablecloth and a few decorations. We’ve stayed in places that did this much better. We also drove a little too far up the mountain and reached the owner’s house. He sent us back down, saying we couldn’t miss the cabin and that they didn’t have time. A bit more help would have been appreciated. We’d still recommend it to people into winter sports.

The cabin worked really well for our skiing weekend, and the view over the Zillertal valley was fantastic. There were 12 of us, all between 25 and 30, staying for a long weekend. The place was simply furnished, with a cozy dining area. It felt a little expensive for what was on offer, but we’d still recommend it.

The landlady was really friendly and easy to deal with. The house was spotless, roomy, and cozy, so I felt right at home. We’ll definitely be back!

There was an extra charge for cleaning and linens, though.
