We ate at the restaurant a few times, and the hearty, tasty food left us with flavours we’ll miss until our next visit to Austria. The apartment was spacious, clean, lovely, and well equipped, giving us the quiet, good sleep, and peace we needed. We spent two weeks in the Sonnblick apartment at Sonnblick after our original holiday plans changed just a week before arrival. We chose it based entirely on earlier reviews, and after my first phone call with Klaus, I knew we were in good hands. The location is peaceful and a great starting point for many hiking trails. Claudia, Klaus, Ana, and everyone else made the stay feel like a “rehabilitation” we hadn’t realized we desperately needed, and one of the best experiences of our lives. A big scratch behind the ears for Luna, too!

The staff made us feel at home, and our room was clean, cozy, well equipped, and had a lovely balcony view. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with lots to choose from. The mountain views are breathtaking, and hiking trails and the Grossglockner High Alpine Road are easy to reach. It’s a wonderful base for exploring the Alps, and we had a lovely stay.

The mountain view is amazing, and the terrace is large, spacious, and clean. The deer was great, though it’s a pity it came with supermarket-quality frozen potatoes. A note to the boss lady: please don’t blame your employee for your own poor, rude, unprofessional communication. She came over and said, “I need the table at 19.30,” full stop. Nobody had told us this when we were seated, and we’d been there about 45 minutes for dinner. I said it was understandable that she wanted to serve other guests too, but she should have been nicer to us. Then she blamed the waiter, who had done an amazing job throughout our stay.

The views were lovely while we ate, and the food was really good. The staff were lovely too, and there was a hopeful dog.
