The private garage is roomy enough for a VW camper van, and the apartment has both TV and Wi-Fi. There are two gardens, including one that feels completely secluded, which makes it a great place for dogs. The holiday apartment is very well furnished. The village is rather sleepy, but it works well as a base for day trips, especially into nearby Czechia. One drawback is that the bedroom looks onto the main road, though there isn't much traffic at night.

Herrnbaumgarten, the “crazy village,” has a quirky sense of humor, friendly open people, and welcoming cellars. The surrounding area is lovely too, and we came away feeling completely relaxed. The Karpf family are warm and discreet hosts, and there's plenty of information about the village and nearby area. Their cellar also has Karpf's wines and homemade treats, including a Welschriesling that's well worth trying. We had everything we needed in this comfortable, well-equipped home: a secluded garden for sunbathing, a kitchen with a wood-burning stove for games nights, and TVs in every bedroom as well as the living room. There's lots of Wi-Fi bandwidth, and fly screens on the bedroom and living room windows keep out the six-legged, and sometimes more-legged, visitors.

The hostess is really nice and knows her stuff, and there's plenty to do in this beautiful area. The apartment is nicely furnished, with a lovely garden that's kept in good shape. A great place for a vacation, and I highly recommend it.
