Hotel Valerie

The location is very good, and the staff are helpful and attentive. We stayed in an apartment, so I can't comment on the food. It was cleaned every day, and we got fresh towels when needed. Parking and the bike room were great to have. The kitchen was the main drawback. It was missing a few basics, including scissors, a chopping board, lids that fit the pots and pans, a pasta strainer and knives sharp enough to use. The only other downside was that the staff don't speak English.

I'm still waiting for my refund after being charged twice for my stay at Hotel Valerie in Hinterglemm, Austria, in January this year. Manager Konstantin told me to contact the central office, but they never replied to my many emails and calls. It's been months, and the amount is over a thousand euros. When I tried to sort out the clear overcharge, I was accused by email of fraud and blackmail, even though I had sent documents showing their mistake. They said they'd check the information, then I heard nothing more. Every email I received was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Still no solution. This lack of communication and failure to address the double charge is deeply disappointing. I'd caution others about the possibility of similar issues and avoid this hotel at all costs.

The breakfasts were delicious, and housekeeping came daily. We had all the comforts we needed in this cozy place, right by the ski lift. The administration was friendly and focused on guests, and there was ski storage with shoe drying. After a day out, the sauna was a good place to unwind.

We liked the apartment and its location so much that we extended our stay. It was a bit cold, which was a problem especially in the bathroom with small children. Still, we were very satisfied overall, and I'd recommend it.
