Ferienhof Weissenbach

We hiked the Lechweg trail and found the bus stop right outside the house very handy. We could ride to the starting point, hike our chosen route, then catch a bus back. The holiday apartment is spacious and lovely, the service is great, and everything was very clean.

The hostess was genuinely friendly and down-to-earth, and breakfast was generous. There’s covered parking, heated boot storage, and the ski bus stops right outside. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. We’ll definitely return.

The room itself was spacious and nicely furnished, with a lovely plank floor and seating area. Our bathroom hadn’t been renovated, but it was neat and clean. The other couple with us had a comfortable bed and a nice new bathroom, though their room had fitted carpet, which I don’t think is as good for allergies or hygiene. I was disappointed with breakfast in a few ways. We had the same rather tough white rolls every day, instead of the proper round Kaiser rolls or some of the many other varieties sold in shops and bakeries. Not once were we offered an egg, which I’d expected on a farm where you might see chickens and get a fresh one. Luckily, there was tasty wholemeal bread to slice, and the homemade jams were very good. There was plenty of cheese and meat, and the lady brought more when the small portions on the platters ran out, though I still felt I had to be frugal. We were unlucky with our bed. The mattresses were completely worn out and really need replacing. Other reviews are glowing, but I’m more reserved.

It was wonderfully peaceful, which we Berliners found so relaxing. The landlady was lovely, the accommodation clean, and the place small and beautiful. There’s a bus stop just outside for getting around. We felt right at home, and I finally got to be in the mountains! 👍
