The food felt more like canteen fare than what I’d expect at a 4-star hotel. Breakfast options were very basic, and quality didn’t seem to matter much to the hotel. One evening I asked for hot water for medicine and was told I’d have to pay for it as tea. That didn’t seem right. Usually 4-star hotels even provide a kettle and coffee machine in the room. The rooms are nice and the view is beautiful, though it’s a bit far from the slopes. The spa is okay, but nothing special, and there’s construction work going on at the moment.

I was able to charge my fully electric car here, which was great. Just be sure to unplug it once it’s charged, because the charger then starts billing idle minutes at a high rate. I left my car plugged in overnight twice, and the counter kept running after the battery was full. The hotel is large and very nice, with two wellness areas that guests can use. The room was spacious, with an excellent bed and bathroom, and the location was quiet. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and good traditional Austrian dishes.

The view is gorgeous, and the new rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. The pool was pretty nice too, though not very big. Still, I was disappointed. For a 4-star place I’d expect at least a bathrobe and some toiletries in the room. The small wellness area is nice, but it only opens three days a week, and only after 15:00. What’s that about? The staff did a good job, to be fair, but the food was poor, canteen quality at best for both breakfast and dinner. Sharing tables only added to that feeling. There’s potential here, but the details need more work and care.

From the time we arrived until we left the next morning, this hotel fell far below expectations. A Danish travel agency recommended it, and I’d booked three nights, but we left after just one. I’d stayed at what I considered the worst hotel ever before, and this one was worse. The staff spoke almost no English, so they didn’t talk with us and answered in German, which I don’t understand. They seemed very unfriendly. Nobody seemed willing to help or take responsibility for welcoming us or sorting out problems. We asked several times for help charging the car, but no one would show us how. They just pointed in the direction we should drive. We found the charging station after an hour, but it didn’t work. The promised 4-course menu wasn’t what we got. The choices were onion soup, salad, dry meat and pudding. That was all, and it was on a par with the worst canteen food. I put up with all of that because the hotel was nice and the view beautiful. But when I went to bed at 23:00, it was the worst bed ever. I could feel the mattress springs right through it. I had to get blankets from the car in the parking garage and lie on them as a base so the quilt would be a little softer. There was no way to find staff, so we couldn’t talk to anyone until the next morning. Their solution was to put a blanket, which they called a “topper,” under the sheets for the remaining two nights. They also said they’d never had a complaint before and that we should’ve told them the day before, when they were sleeping in the completely dark hotel. That can’t be right, because several reviews describe the same bed experience. We only found those reviews after our miserable stay. When a customer tells a hotel they had a very bad stay and slept for only half the night, they shouldn’t just be refunded for the remaining nights. The night ruined by the hotel should be refunded too. There was absolutely no compensation for the 200 EUROS wasted on one night. They said they could only pay 400 EUROS for the following nights, which we didn’t use anyway.
