Gutwenger Ferienwohnungen & Almhütten

Our whole family was blown away by the property and the hospitality. The Gutwenger family's warmth was the icing on the cake, and their example of working hard together while living well was inspiring. The place is so peaceful that I'd choose it over staying in Innsbruck. They make excellent honey and milk, and also produce wonderful lip balm and cough medicine. Be sure to buy the milk and honey. We even packed the milk to take to the Netherlands. We felt it deserved more than ten stars, and I'll visit again. For a heavenly experience, stay at the gutwenger apartmenthus for at least three days.

The drive takes you quite high, but the surprise at the end is well worth it. We were very pleased with the accommodation: everything was nicely arranged, clean, and perfectly tidy, with that lovely Austrian style. Many thanks to the family for making us feel welcome. Thank you Petr and Eva.

We used the apartment as a base for visiting Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Lake Braies the next day. It was spacious and clean, with two bedrooms and a kitchen equipped with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd gladly come back.

The location felt very remote and desolate to me. There was nothing nearby, not even the village in the valley, and if you wanted to walk out, the street was the only option. The apartment was clean and new, but it was all wood and had no sound insulation. The balcony was shared as well, so anyone could look in through the window. The family were very respectful and conservative, to the point of having crosses in both the living room and bedroom.
