My family and I are staying in Seefeld and went to Innsbruck for the day yesterday, as we've done before. We stopped at a cafe that is also part of the Golden Roof Apartments. All I had done was put an empty plastic bottle on the table where we were having the coffee and pastries we'd ordered. The Australian Manager then verbally and racially assaulted us without provocation or just cause. He squared up to me, verbally abused us, and chased us down the street, coming very close to physically assaulting me. I'm a disabled war veteran and, despite my disabilities, can still defend myself. But violence was not the right response, especially in front of my wife and son. My wife was extremely distressed, and my son, who has ADHD, was in floods of tears. My military service PTSD completely incapacitated me, and we had to find somewhere to sit and calm down. We'd already bought tickets for the cable car and other local attractions, otherwise we would have left Innsbruck straight away and gone back to Seefeld. I've contacted the Innsbruck Police, the Board of Commerce & Trade, and the Innsbruck Tourism Board. We've visited Innsbruck before, but this has put us off coming back. This extremely distressing encounter has tarnished our family holiday and will stay with us.

I can't judge the food or rooms, but after this experience I'll politely pass on any more visits. As I walked past the café staff carrying tables while they were getting ready to open, I got screamed at. I wasn't in anyone's way, I just had the "audacity" to walk by. Be careful about getting too close to the café area.

If you're a senior and want even a little service, stay away. There's no management in the building and no customer service. The place is overpriced because of its location, with no elevator worth mentioning, and no working heaters in the rooms. One room had a threshold an inch too high, which felt dangerous. A rug had an odor, but management insisted they don't allow pets. How would they know? The stairs are spiral, so luggage is a bad idea. Running a marathon would've been easier. If you want heartache and cold rooms in winter, stay at Golden Fleece Apartments by Penz.

You first need to collect the keys from stage 12 hotel, just a two-minute walk away. The apartment entrance is inside the cafe, and the elevator is on the first floor, not the ground floor. The apartment was clean and had pretty much everything you need. The people in the cafe were nice, as were the hotel staff when we checked in.
