The pool, sauna, steam room, and outdoor jacuzzi were clean, well kept, and enjoyable. The local area was quiet despite nearby student spots, and the breakfast buffet had a very good range of hot and cold food. We found the mountain restaurants good too, with a large meal and drink costing about 20 Euro per person. We ate at local places in the evenings, including Galway Irish pub, three minutes away. Its combo meal is enormous and needs sharing with one or two others. We were on a four-night British Airways package with Business class flights, which was very reasonable at less than £150 per person per night. It included flights, ski transport, private airport transfers both ways, airport lounges, and the hotel with breakfast. The ski resorts, around 12-13 locally, are reachable by frequent buses, though the journeys can take a while. Most buses leave from opposite the main train station, a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel, too far in ski boots. Most resorts have lockers for 2-4 Euros a day for shoes and gear for 2-3 people, although plenty of people leave shoes on the outdoor ski racks all day. Ask reception for the Innsbruck "welcome card" for buses and discounts at several places. We rode buses without paying or showing it, but you may need to show it if asked. We booked the hotel for a short ski break and keeping our skis in the room was easy. Most of the staff and facilities were very good, but one person working in the evening restaurant and late bar was condescending, as if we shouldn’t be there. We decided not to eat in the restaurant because of him. That cost them two customers and the hotel a star in our review. We’re both reasonably educated, mature men, so it was surprising to be treated with such obvious disdain when everyone else was friendly and helpful. We’d still stay here again without hesitation, but that interaction was disappointing. Be ready for some nudity in the hot rooms.
