The room itself was comfortable, spacious and clean, with a good bed and a shower that had plenty of water and worked well. There was nowhere in the shower to set soap or shampoo, though. The kitchen was decent, with generous breakfast, an enjoyable and varied four-course dinner, a different main course each day, and an à la carte option. Service in the room and restaurant was quick and efficient, sometimes so quick that staff might come in while you're at breakfast. The indoor pool was nice, and the support staff, mostly Hungarians as far as I could tell, worked very hard. Even with those positives, I didn't enjoy my ski holiday here. Without your own transport, getting to Itter Salvistabahn or Hopfgarten Salvenbahn is difficult: buses are very infrequent, and if a full ski bus passes the hotel, apparently that's just how it is. The ski room has proper boot dryers and space for lots of skis and boots, but only four to six people can put boots on at once. The lighting and ventilation are almost nonexistent, making the morning rush horrible. The sauna area is downstairs, without windows or fresh air, with several saunas and a relaxation room holding a couple dozen loungers. Two of its three showers were completely broken, and the remaining one was nearly impossible to adjust without a strong man. Those three broken faucets really need a plumber. A hidden, unmarked door and stairs lead up to the pool, thankfully, where there's more space, light, fresh air and loungers for relaxing after the sauna. Bathrobes aren't included for the four-star hotel guests using the sauna and pool. You have to rent one for cash and pay an extra deposit to ensure it's returned. Credit cards were accepted only for the hotel charge. Everything else had to be paid in cash right away, even drinks after each dinner, and you couldn't add it to the room bill and pay all at once, as is normal globally. The online price offer didn't mention taxes, which only appeared when paying on site. I didn't feel welcome. Reception was closed or mostly empty, and when someone was there, they seemed to be off somewhere minding their own business. Nobody greeted guests arriving or leaving, and there was no one to ask about things like the TV in my room not working. Management left me with an ignorant and unfriendly impression. The side building's windows faced my room, but there were no day curtains for basic privacy. Without curtains, everything inside was visible; closing the blackout curtains made the room completely dark, so you had to turn the lights on. Only a few rooms facing each other apparently have this problem, but it was still maddening. The TV was just decoration and didn't work, and an unpleasant smell came back after I aired out the room. I couldn't find any food waste, so maybe it was carpet-cleaning chemicals or something. I wouldn't come back. Until the service problems are fixed, I'd take away a few of the hotel's "stars".

We booked late, but the staff arranged two rooms opposite one another for our group of three. One room's sofa bed was large enough for two. The balconies were lovely, with beautiful mountain views, and I think if we'd booked earlier, the adjoining balconies could easily have been opened up to connect. The heated pool was great. It was often empty when we went down earlier after lunch. There wasn't a separate jacuzzi, but there was a seated section in the pool you could switch on in a similar way, and it was very relaxing. The food was brilliant. Breakfast had a huge range of hot and cold buffet items, and you could make a roll or sandwich to wrap up for lunch, plus take fruit and a carton of juice. Dinner was lovely, typically Austrian, with soup, a salad buffet, a choice of three mains and then dessert. On changeover days the main course was a buffet instead. Drinks were included at dinner, with red or white wine, beer and soft drinks on tap, and you could refill as needed. It felt almost like full board. I'd highly recommend the hotel and would love to return.

Really nice, clean and accommodating, with everything you need for a ski holiday. I'd definitely stay again if I'm back in the area. I recommend it, so don't hesitate when choosing a hotel around SkiWelt.

The views were stunning, the hotel was great, and the food was exceptional. It was so clean, and every staff member was friendly and welcoming.
