Aurora Mountain Chalet

We Rent made our stay at Aurora Mountain Chalet a nightmare. The SUMMERCARD INCLUDED wording was in the listing title, but there was no card in the house, none was sent afterward, and nobody mentioned it. When we asked for help, both We Rent and Booking.com went silent. Their lack of customer service, follow-up and accountability made an already awful stay even worse. We arrived at 1 AM, tired and ready to settle in, but couldn’t get into the chalet. I’d spoken with a representative two hours earlier, but then there was no response, access code or support. When I finally reached him, he said the PIN had been emailed. The address was completely wrong, and he showed no concern, apology or urgency and made no effort to sort it out. The €400 deposit they demanded through WhatsApp, which hadn’t been mentioned when we booked, seemed to be their main concern. They also sprung a city tax on us without warning. Both charges came as a surprise and frankly felt like a scam. Inside, it was boiling hot, with no air conditioning or fan, which is unacceptable for a property charging premium summer prices. There were insects and spiders throughout, a serious problem for me because of my allergies. The house was only moderately clean and clearly hadn’t been treated for pests. This was one of the worst booking experiences I’ve had. I rarely leave bad reviews, but We Rent’s handling of it was beyond unacceptable. The company is incompetent, careless and dishonest, and I strongly advise the homeowner to cut ties with them. They’re damaging the property’s reputation and wasting guests’ time and money. I’ll never return and wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone. Avoid it at all costs.
