The other staff were friendly and cheerful, but the older blonde woman, who I think is the owner, ruined the stay for us. I saw her repeatedly shouting at staff and treating them badly. On our last morning, although checkout was at 10:00, she came over while we were having breakfast and harshly told us our checkout time had arrived and we had to leave. I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

We ate dinner here twice during the week and really enjoyed it. The host was great, and they made an extra effort when serving our cheese fondue. A recommended stop if you’re visiting the region.

The location was a real plus, right in the center of Kaprun with shops and ski lifts easy to reach. The hotel has traditional charm, comfortable rooms, and everything was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was generous and high quality, and the restaurant meals were authentic and delicious. What made the stay especially memorable was the team’s hospitality. Everyone we met was friendly and attentive, and Michel deserves a special thank-you. He was professional and helpful, with a warm, personal manner, and always had a smile and good advice when we asked about the area or needed anything. We felt looked after and relaxed throughout our stay at Hotel Gasthof Mitteregger, and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The huge balcony off our family room was amazing, and the location couldn’t have been better. We had a lovely summer visit as a family of four. The room was spacious and clean, with a fairly new bathroom and a separate toilet. There’s also an older children’s playroom that didn’t seem to get much use, but it’s available if you need it. The hotel was quiet and fairly empty during our stay. We also received a local Summer card, which let us visit many places for free and use most of the cable cars without charge. All the staff were kind and supportive. Can definitely recommend it.
