Haus Tirol

We especially loved the eggs and bacon at breakfast, which was delicious. The hosts were so friendly, and Haus Tirol is in a great location. We’re looking forward to staying again, and would definitely recommend it.

The main problem for us was breakfast. The coffee had a strong fishy smell and tasted the same, while the rest of the buffet looked artificial and unappealing. In a town this nice, I expected better. If you have the option, book without breakfast and eat somewhere else in town. A note for anyone reading older reviews: Haus Tirol got new owners about six months ago, so the breakfast may have changed, even if the room and location details are still accurate. Our room was clean and pleasant, with a small balcony facing the main street. It was quiet enough, and the mountain view, including Kitzsteinhorn, was great. There’s a public bus stop right outside, Dorfkrug next door, and the town center is a 5-10 minute walk away. I would have rated it three stars if the new owners had made the change clear. They’re benefiting from the old ratings while that information is tucked away somewhere on their website, and that cost them a star from me.

Haus Tirol cancelled my reservation, made through a well-known booking site, nearly three months after I booked. They said they couldn’t process the card payment. My card was fine, so I updated the payment details and asked the property to try again, but they cancelled for the same reason. Neither I nor Booking could reach the property using the listed phone numbers in Austria and the Czech Republic. They also didn’t provide Booking’s agent with proof of a declined transaction. My bank confirmed there had been no authorization request on my card. This is about the customer service, not the property itself. I’m glad they cancelled, since I’d rather not deal with a business that handles things this way.

Mr. Thomas and his wife Lauren were so warm and friendly. My family and I had a lovely vacation here. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming.
