Haflingerhof

We were four and felt very comfortable in this cozy apartment with a fireplace, right in the heart of Feichten. It can only be rented Saturday to Saturday through a portal, and Interhome is the cheapest option. Feichten is charming and has everything you need. The listed destinations are 30 minutes away: Salzburg, Frankfurt, Lübeck, and the Kaiserslautern Glacier. There were some minor drawbacks we could live with. The horses in the stable next to the two bedrooms can be heard, sometimes more and sometimes less. The landlords are generally friendly and helpful, and the owner keeps a very watchful eye on everything. We tried to be appreciative tenants, too. I wanted to mention a few possible improvements, since she had some complaints as well, but that didn't go down well at all. The bedroom door frames rattle a bit, so I suggested gluing on a thin rubber seal. And that's not all. The bathroom cabinet and radiator were extremely dusty, and some dishes in the cupboard were dirty. The dishwasher door badly needs repair. Bring your own towels for handwashing and the kitchen. Each person gets one large and one small towel for a week.

Everything you might need is provided, and the hosts are always around if something comes up. The place is clean and tidy, and the beds are good, though the pillows could be better. In summer, the horses are kept at another farm on Glacier Street. The hosts are very nice.

The worst apartment we have rented. We have been coming here several times each season since 2003. The stable is right next to the bedroom, and a horse scraped its teeth against the wall all night, so we couldn't sleep. The bathrooms and other rooms had only been given a very cursory clean. Put plainly, it was dirty. The price was presented unclearly. When it came time to pay, the owner charged us at the rate of a four-star hotel and became aggressive. We have never encountered such rude behavior before or since in Feichten, where we have met many wonderful people and made friendships that have lasted for years.

Shops and a bus stop are close by, and the apartment is right in the center. We stayed four nights and found it spacious, warm, and clean, with a roomy kitchen and a fireplace in the living room. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
