The location is right on the Kaiserkrone hiking trails. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, so we slept well, even though the furniture looked dated. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast had a great selection: eggs made fresh, bread, cheese and meat, vegetables and fruit, plus yoghurt.

The people were really friendly, and the Appfelstrudel was especially delicious. We had a lovely dinner, with traditional Austrian dishes that were simple rather than fancy but very well made. I’d come back.

We stopped here on day three of our five-day hike and would happily return, whether hiking or not, in summer or winter. The host was kind and welcoming, the food was great, and our room was clean and tidy. The atmosphere suited us perfectly, and breakfast felt like a real luxury.

The host was really friendly and helpful, and the breakfast included a huge selection. They even encouraged us to take a little extra for lunch later. The rooms were very clean and neat, with a luxurious feel. We had to walk a bit off the trail to reach the hotel during our Wilder Kaiser trip, but it was absolutely worth it. Definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance.

The place felt a bit dated, and breakfast choices were limited. Levi was excellent, though, kind and helpful. We also appreciated that they cooked eggs and bacon for us in the morning. Lovely staff.
