Hotel Alpenhof

The staff’s hospitality and constant willingness to help made the biggest impression on me. The hotel is conveniently located, the room was clean, and breakfast was delicious. There are also several saunas open daily from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, a pleasant extra. I highly recommend this hotel for a delightful stay.

For this price, I thought what we got was excellent value, so I’m surprised by the poor rating. We were there off season for just one night’s rest. Christopher gave us really friendly service, information and a nice chat, and the setting felt intimate. I liked the large room, separate bath and toilets, and balcony with a view of the mountains. There was free parking and quite an extensive breakfast selection, even with only a few guests around. Dinner is available with advance reservation for 30 euros per person. You won’t run out of drinks, with hot drinks available until late and paid cold drinks available anytime. I didn’t try the sauna or pool, but it’s good to know they’re there.

The rooms are large and clean, the view from the window is amazing, and the location is great. The sauna works well, breakfast is typical for Austria, parking is available, and the staff are friendly. I think the people writing negative reviews must be paid trolls, as I have no other explanation. If you’re bothered by road noise at night, close the window. The window insulation is good. Come, you won’t regret it.

The host was really nice and attentive, and even planned an off-piste excursion for some guests. Food, service and the spa and sauna were all on point at this cozy little hotel. We liked it much more than the other Thinggaard partner hotels we stayed at in Austria. The catch is getting around without a car. The buses in Kitzbühel come and go as they please and head to whatever destination they want. By car, the drive takes 8 minutes. If you forget something, going back and forth by bus takes 2 hours.
