The host family were so welcoming that we felt at home straight away, and we’d love to come back. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a new, spotless bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and they can serve it at flexible times. Dinner has daily specials alongside the regular menu. The room was very spacious, though mornings could be noisy because the small grocery store next door received deliveries. Breakfast is served. It may be worth asking the evening before if you’d like cheese or cold cuts. They gave them to us for free, but that meant the food went to waste.

We stopped in for coffee and were delighted by the friendly service, pleasant atmosphere, and good drink prices. Highly recommended.

We’d just finished a lovely hike and stopped at Gasthof Sonnberger on Friday at 2:15 pm, outside lunch hours. They offered us toast, but when we asked if soup might be available instead, they agreed. This review is only about the liver dumpling soup. The dumpling was dry, lukewarm, and so hard it was almost impossible to eat with a spoon. The clear broth was a little warmer but had no taste. What a shame, since a sign above the counter advertised a “Beef Weekend” from Friday through Sunday. The soup didn’t resemble that at all. The three of us were thirsty, so we each asked for half a glass of water with the juice of half a lemon. Instead, the bill listed “syrup water” at €3.50. So much for local cuisine. This was a complete exception, though, and we’ve NEVER experienced anything like it before. And about that toast they’d offered earlier: by the time we’d had the soup, it was no longer possible to order it.
