Parkhotel Krems

The location is excellent, and breakfast was generous and really good. The staff were helpful, too. The rooms feel new, clean, and comfortable, with good facilities for cyclists. There’s a kettle and tea, but no coffee, and the little fridge makes a lot of noise. No air conditioning, though the fan worked well enough. For a three-star hotel, it was fine.

Breakfast was very good, and it’s an easy walk to the Old town and the Danube. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but the bathroom smell was awful, especially in the evening. It seemed to come through the ventilation, maybe from a kitchen. We were in room No 109. The building looks very old and almost abandoned from outside, though it’s nice indoors. I was initially ready to give it one star because of the smell, but the breakfast brought my rating up to three.

Getting around was easy since practically everything is within walking distance, and the staff were really friendly. Sina at reception was especially professional and kind. My room was very nice, though you could definitely smell the new furniture. I only stayed one night. Breakfast could use more choice, and I’d like to see air conditioning in the rooms since it gets warm at night. Still, I’d stay here again when I’m in Krems.

The owners and staff are welcoming and always ready to help. I especially liked the breakfast, which goes beyond the usual international options, with Levantine treats like Humus and Aubergine Mezze as well as Kaiserschmarrn. The new rooms are on the small side. It’s handy for both the old town and a park. Looking forward to coming back next year.
