We hiked up from Innerkrems to the hütte with the kids, and they loved every moment. The owner was helpful and fun to chat with, and served us delicious local cold food and drinks. We had an amazing two hours with my family, with great food and marvelous views. Totally recommend it.
The hut is beautifully furnished and decorated with care. You can even stay overnight if you don't feel like leaving. But the snack at the Penkerhütte is what really blew me away. So much flavor and care in every detail, with everything homemade by Michael and his team. They make the cheese, butter, and more right there on the mountain pasture. It’s clearly a lot of work, and you can taste the genuine passion behind it all.
We loved the traditional Austrian snack platter, especially the homemade cheese, and everything was prepared with such care. The alpine farm is beautifully situated. Margret & Helmut and I will definitely be back!
The peaceful setting and stunning views make it easy to linger for hours, and the beautiful rooms are a pleasure too. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. The homemade snacks were delicious, and there was plenty on the platter ;-) Already looking forward to visiting again!
Everyone was so friendly, and the hut still has that rustic, cozy feel even though quite a few things have changed since my last visit. It’s a lovely place to stop and unwind, with cold drinks from the fountain, fresh buttermilk, and really good cold platters.
