Kinderhotel Laderhof

We came as a family of four, two adults and two kids, plus one grandparent. The hotel is great for children, with excellent activities inside the main building and, when the weather allows, a playground and outdoor wooden kitchen play area nearby. There's also a small supermarket two or three minutes away on foot, and the afternoon snack helps fill the gap after a day on the slopes. Breakfast and dinner were awesome, with lots of choices. Lunch was a bit lackluster, but does the job if you're not high up on the mountain. The staff gave great service and paid lovely attention to kids and details. One downside: family rooms and suites are a few metres' walk from the main building, which made trips to and from the pool tricky, especially when it snowed. The ski lift is about a ten-minute walk away. It's manageable alone, but harder with kids, so we drove up and down the road throughout the ski holiday. A great hotel for children, especially if someone in the group isn't skiing during the week.

The location makes it easy to get to the ski station, and the hotel has excellent facilities, including a great pool for kids and adults. We loved the food and the wide variety, especially the breakfast. The sauna was one of the best we’ve experienced, a perfect way to relax after a long day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and special mention to the chef for the amazing meals. Fantastic stay for families, highly recommended!

A great hotel for relaxing with children. There’s lots to do both inside and outside, and the staff are very friendly. Food, snacks, and drinks for adults and children are included and available all the time. The room had an epic view of the Austrian mountains. If you like fishing, there’s a small lake near the hotel with lots of fish. You can buy a licence at reception for just 10 euros a day, allowing two fish.

The staff were generally kind and helpful, even bringing us light meals when needed. Still, a lot of the services could use improvement, and I’d rate the place around 3.5. The hotel is in a quiet spot, with easy parking outside and a few spaces in a nearby garage. The gondola is about a 10-minute walk away. There’s also a free shuttle, but it runs only in the morning until 10:15 and again after 3 pm. We could drive to the gondola too, except on Sunday, when the parking was overcrowded. Food varied quite a bit over the week. Some menus were nice, others disappointing, and vegetarian choices were limited. Breakfast had a good selection, and staff were happy to make egg dishes. In the afternoon there were snacks and cakes, plus free coffee from a machine. Coffee wasn’t free all day, which seemed odd. Water and juice dispensers were available except at night. Our son liked the indoor playground. He didn’t use the kids’ club enough for me to comment on it. The basement playroom had a decent range of equipment, but some games, especially the PlayStations, were in poor shape and everything was quite dirty. The small gym had good quality equipment, though it was old, underground, windowless, and didn’t look very clean. The same went for other shared spaces, including the toilets. The pool was nice, but got a bit dirty by late afternoon after lots of families had used it. There was no changing room, which was inconvenient. Our room was okay, though it needed more shelves, especially in the bathroom, which matters when you’re staying as a family. Many guests came down with gastro-flu during our stay. The management didn’t proactively inform guests. I can’t say whether they could have prevented it spreading, but a quick warning might have helped us avoid the kids’ club and common areas, and saved us two days in bed.
