First Mountain Ötztal

A lovely village.

Our room was one of the new ones from 2023, cozy and stylish, and it was clean. The little village of Gries and the people there made the trip feel special. I met lots of lovely people, and the activities make it easy to get to know other guests if you're in the mood to socialize. We came in winter. The nearby ski lift is an easy walk and works well for beginners and kids. I loved the toboggan run, and there are also great walks to the mountain huts. The ski bus gets you to the bigger ski areas, then you can unwind in the hotel's wellness area and sauna. The ski shop across the street is a lot of fun, too. Don't miss it. It's a great tip for anyone after a special mountain stay. I'm sure the staff do their best to make summer holidays just as good.

We felt so well looked after, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Everything was clean, the hotel was great, and the food was very good. It's been a long time since we had such a lovely ski holiday. We'd return in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful time, especially enjoying the wellness area with its two saunas. The hotel has something on most evenings, from mulled wine and après-ski to night sledding under the stars, and the bar is open every evening. The village has more to do as well, including walks to alpine pastures followed by sled rides down to the valley. You can rent sleds at the pastures, and sometimes there's a party tent. The hotel sits above 1,500 meters in a romantic valley among the mountains, higher up than Sölden or Längenfeld. The snow stays, so the winter scenery is there year-round. It's an excellent place for a winter holiday.
