Hotel Alhartinger Hof

Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the service was excellent. I was very satisfied with my stay at this lovely little hotel. The rooms felt cozy and spacious, and the bathroom was fine apart from a big water stain on the ceiling over the shower, close to the extractor fan. It looked uninviting and spoiled the impression a bit.

The big parking lot was handy during our business trip to Linz, and the location was okay. I stayed in room 65 behind reception. It was a decent size, but the worn furnishings and poor condition made it disappointing. The walls were chipped at the corners, the door paint was scratched, and there were spiders in the bathroom. The mattress was worn out, the TV was tiny, and the only room light was a tube by the window that felt like something from a basement. The bedside lamp was broken. There were no proper curtains, just sheer ones, so blocking out light wasn't possible. It was also very noisy. Once they started setting up the breakfast room in the morning, that was the end of the night. Breakfast was meager too. By 8 a.m. there were hardly any rolls left, and the eggs and bacon were barely there and cold. I stay in hotels a lot, and this was the worst breakfast I've had in a long time. Sustainability clearly doesn't seem to matter here, with everything wrapped in plastic. Really disappointing. I wonder where all the good reviews come from.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was the real highlight, truly excellent, and made the start of each day that much nicer. I had a very pleasant stay and am already looking forward to coming back.

The beer garden is lovely, the staff are friendly, and the food is very good.
