Lermoos worked well as a base for our trips into Tirol on the Austrian side and Allgäu in Germany. We stayed three nights at Birkenhof in the “two bedroom apartment with a balcony.” It was quiet on the street and between apartments, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, doing their best with our requests and problems. The breakfast buffet was nice. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and clean, with things seeming new or renovated. We liked the two roomy bathrooms and the lovely balcony view. The kitchen was well equipped, though there was no dish soap or wash cloth, something we already knew from booking.com reviews. The beds were comfortable. The sofa bed worked for a child, but wouldn’t fit an adult. The main drawback was poor light insulation. In summer, we woke up early every day, though we know that’s common in hotels and guesthouses in central Europe. We couldn’t leave a rating on booking.com because of a problem with their website and the booking.
