We had a weekend reservation, but severe flooding in Austria, which was heading toward Hungary, disrupted our trip and hike. We politely asked the owner to refund us or find another option, such as moving the booking to a different weekend, because of the force majeure situation. They only replied, “sorry.” I feel a compromise could have been possible, maybe rebooking for a quieter weekend or at least refunding the cleaning fee, since it wouldn’t apply in this case. They don’t answer messages and aren’t understanding at all, so I can’t recommend this owner or the accommodation. We’ll visit the area again soon because we want to climb the Zugspitze, but we definitely won’t stay here.

We had a wonderful family stay in apartment 1 at Haus Goldeck last week. It was very clean and had all we needed, including nice towels and duvets. The Austrian mountain views were fantastic.

There’s a large supermarket in town with a fantastic butcher shop, and this place worked well for our family gathering. Everyone was pleased with the accommodation, kitchen, and living room. It’s one room without a bathroom, though there’s a large bathroom in the apartment. I’d recommend it for group activities, even if you’re not skiing.

We’d happily stay here again. The apartment was clean and roomy, with a big balcony overlooking the mountains, and the town center was just a short walk away.

The apartment was very large and clean, and the owner was lovely. We were allowed to bring our three dogs, which we really appreciated! The only downside was that the toilet had no sink. There was one in the bathroom.
