Sadly, the kitchen had just closed when we arrived at 13:31. It’s open until 13:30, then opens again at 17:30. We’d hoped to eat and have a beer here, so maybe next time. The place looks extremely cozy, warm, and decorated in an old-fashioned style, as you can see in my walking tour. It definitely calls for another visit. There’s a castle, schloss, and alpine rail nearby.

We booked for a group and had options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, whether small or large. The views over Lienz are lovely, and the setting works really well for kids. The traditional food makes it a nice choice for a family meal or a romantic evening with your partner. Location, service, menu, facilities, kid-friendliness, and value all get 10/10 from me.

We loved the view over the valley from our balcony, and the meals were wonderful. The staff went above and beyond with every request, even finding gluten-free bread for my breakfast. A lovely family hotel, and do get the ice cream with hot raspberry sauce!

The staff were so kind and helpful, and breakfast was sweet. We had a great stay, with a beautiful place to stay and a good location. Parking felt safe too. Highly recommended!

The views from the rooms are amazing, and the hotel has a welcoming, charming feel. We were able to walk to and from Lienz, which was a great trek, and the toboggan run is nearby and convenient. Barbara was helpful when we arrived late, leaving us a small packet of food. Our suite was decent and had the only room with a balcony. Breakfast was fresh, and the bathroom was a bit small but nice. A lovely place for a one or two night stay.
