The front desk staff were excellent, but that was the only bright spot. My room was dated and hadn't been cleaned properly, with hair in the bathroom and a dead fly on the floor. The water temperature kept changing, and drilling and repair work started at 8:30 AM. I worked until 2 AM, so the noon checkout time didn't help when construction noise kept waking me early. Really disappointing.

The location worked especially well for me, close to main roads, the Danube and trams, and about a 45 min walk from the main train station. Depending on which floor and side you're on, the sunrise view can be really great. The bathrooms have baths and are surprisingly well equipped. The decor looks early nineties and needs refreshing, though it still works. There's some historic and art theme that I don't really get, and I'm not sure it has aged well. Food was a pleasant surprise, with breakfast and dinner somewhat better than I'd expect from such a hotel. The photos show dinner and a dessert. Service was excellent, too. Staff were friendly and sometimes fun, booked reliable taxis that arrived promptly, and handled other requests quickly and competently.

The Danube view was great, and the staff and restaurant were both terrific. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable.

The view was superb, and I liked the restaurant, the service and the friendly staff. The rooms were old, in poor condition, dirty and smelly. The towels smelled really bad, there was some strange glue in the water glasses, and there's no AC. Also, your room won't be cleaned unless you ask reception for cleaning every day.
