On our cycling trip in June, we spent one night at Haus Nischelbitzer with breakfast. The hostess was so friendly that we could easily have stayed longer. Our room was excellent, and we enjoyed breakfast out on the terrace. There’s also a pool in the garden. Of all the places we stayed on the trip, this was definitely the best.

The swimming pool was even opened just for the two of us, and the service for guests was attentive. Mrs. Nischelbitzer's guesthouse is a beautiful, well-maintained house. We highly recommend it!

It's a shame, because it seems like a nice place to stay. But if you categorically refuse to host "foreigners," even middle managers, maybe this isn't the right line of work. I thought we'd be further along in the 21st century, yet it seems fellow Europeans from Slovenia aren't welcome.

A five-minute walk gets you to the Goldeck ski area, and you can even see the summit from your room. We stayed for a few nights around the new year and were made to feel very welcome by the kind, friendly older couple who run the guesthouse. The hospitality brought Peter Alexander films to mind. Five stars for everything.
