Gasthaus Post

We booked directly online with the owners and got a lovely welcome from a friendly Dutch family. Our one-bedroom apartment was cosy and comfortable, with tasteful modern fittings and everything we needed for a short stay. There’s private parking at the back. The Gasthaus has a bar and serves excellent food, and breakfast is available if you ask. The location is handy too: 20 minutes from Lienz, 7 minutes by car from the Mattrei ski lift, where there are shops and fuel, and 20 minutes from St Jacob. Highly recommended!

The owner was easygoing and communicative, and recommended a trail that turned out to be the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. It took 6 hours to walk, but was totally worth it. The room was super clean, with a kitchenette and balcony, and the mattress was comfortable after a long day. This is my number one in Osttirol. Highly recommended, and it’s a pity we didn’t have more time to try the restaurant menu. Maybe next time.

Huben is a beautiful place, and we spent 5 nights there. The slopes aren’t too far away, and the shuttle bus stops right in front of the apartment. Appartment Post has a really nice wellness area, perfect for relaxing after a full day of skiing.

There’s a restaurant, and the apartment has a stove, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, and places to sit indoors and out. It’s a nice new apartment under new owners. Close to all the attractions, yet quiet.
