Gästehaus Alpina

We stayed in the Karwendel apartment at the Alpina guesthouse in Maurach in July 2025, and it was a wonderful stay. The Huber family were incredibly friendly and helpful. The house and apartment were in fantastic condition, spotless and well maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped, with new pots, pans, and dishes in excellent shape. In the bathroom there was a lovely semicircular shower with a two-part glass door, a modern sink, a hairdryer, and plenty of places to hang towels. We also had a beautiful balcony with a partial view of Lake Achensee, plus a separate room for skis and hiking boots. Highly recommended!

Parking was available, and the place was peaceful while still centrally located. We booked this apartment in June 2023 for three people, and it suited our family very well. It was clean, the Wi-Fi worked great, and we were very satisfied. There was a shower, hairdryer, microwave, small freezer, sofa and TV seating area, dining space, little bathroom, and a bedroom. The only downside was that our apartment was in the basement, so it felt chilly in spring. The landlord was kind and turned the heat up a little in the evening when we asked. He even did so on a rainy day when we came back earlier than usual. We were all glad, because without that it would have been too cold. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We've been coming to our favorite spot on Lake Achensee for decades. The host family are very friendly, the apartments are wonderful, and you have everything you need. Highly recommended!
