The ski room has boot warmers and a table tennis table, and the location makes it easy to reach several ski areas quickly. We’ve been staying with Hildegard and Peter for years, and coming back really does feel like returning home. They’re welcoming and easygoing. Our second-floor place is Nachtigall, with two double bedrooms and a four-bed loft that works well for kids around six or seven and older. The stairs up to it start in the hallway and are open, so it’s less suited to very young children. There’s also a separate apartment downstairs on the first floor that accommodates eight. The house sits just beyond the Mauterndorf ski village.
