The room was on the small side, which made dealing with ski gear in winter a bit awkward. Breakfast was good, and the landlady was friendly and helpful. The house itself is in a quiet spot, close to the center.

The ski bus stops right outside, and there’s a good place to dry and store skis and boots. The owner was helpful and the house felt homely. Breakfast had everything we needed, including special requests. The rooms are simple but have all the essentials, and Wi-Fi is free. We’d happily come back.

Marion is very helpful, and things work on trust. With the breakfast included, an extra egg or roll for the price would be nice, though she probably wouldn’t mind if you asked for one the next morning. The bathrooms are spacious and very clean, and the shower has a wonderfully steady flow of warm water. The beds were really comfortable, even if they creaked at first. We mentioned it and the issue was sorted. Mellau is compact, so the location works well. I don’t mind the ten-minute walk to the gondola as a morning warm-up, and the ski bus stops right outside anyway.
