The place was very comfortable, with excellent food and service. There was also a large menu to choose from.

We had lunch in the courtyard, which was a pleasant spot with a nice playground for the children. Even though the restaurant is near the main road, you hardly noticed it there. We ordered cordon bleu and schnitzel, and both were good. The meat tasted like it was good quality. The staff were kind and professional. Our waiter seemed to be training, and there was one small misunderstanding, but it was sorted out quickly and professionally. If I'm nearby again, I'll come back to Egidiwirt. I'd recommend a visit if you're in Murau or one of the neighboring towns.

On my second visit to the restaurant, I thought things had improved. The food was fresh and really nice, and they used the proper cheese instead of the commercial kind ☺️. They also have pleasant outdoor seating.

The breakfast guy was friendly, but the food and service otherwise felt average. For the price, this wasn't what we expected. The hotel had a musty, smoky smell throughout, and the entrance through the bar was very smoky, which didn't feel family friendly. There was broken furniture and other stuff lying around. Our room had a strong, unpleasant cleaning smell. The shower was okay, but the toilet area was so small it wouldn't suit a large person.
