More than a year on, and after countless calls and messages to Ibex Hostel, I’m still waiting for my refund. When I first arrived, a booking mistake meant I couldn’t get a room and had to find somewhere else nearby. I was told they’d sort it out through a refund request on Booking.com. The lack of transparency and customer care makes this hard to recommend.

Lovely scenery from a great room, and the staff were very kind.

We booked just one night on the spur of the moment, by phone quite late in the evening. The room was great, and the barista made our evening especially enjoyable. We were very happy to stay here and would love to come back next time.

We had a great meal in the restaurant, and our hosts were very friendly and easygoing. As a family, we spent one night in a clean, quiet, very spacious holiday apartment at the back of the property and were very happy with it. It’s a great option for a one-night stay, since most holiday apartments are rented for longer periods.

The pool across the street was a highlight for our kids after a day on the road. This is a great stop for crossing the Alps, with a biker stop feel in the diner and really good burgers, pizza, and pasta. The rooms are simple and clean, some with kitchenettes and bunk beds. Staff were friendly too.
