The food was mostly okay, though the skiwasser tasted awful, and we sometimes found hair or nails in the soup. The rooms were cramped, with too many beds and barely any space. We had no soap at the sink and went nearly a week without washing our hands. The toilets gave off a constant smell, and using the bathroom after someone had gone number two was unbearable. It was hard to control the room temperature, and we usually had to sleep in our clothes to stay warm. There were also strict, unusual rules. Shoes weren’t allowed, so we spent the day in our socks, and ski gear couldn’t come inside at all. The owner searched our room one day and left a stern note telling us to move our small, light skis, packed in a bag under the bed. We had to leave them outside against the hotel wall, with no locked door. After finding them, she yelled at us angrily. She never spoke to us like normal people and answered our questions in an intimidating raised voice. I wouldn’t recommend it. We came on a school trip, so others may have had a different experience.

We stopped here for one night on a long-distance hike and got such a warm welcome. The hosts were kind and helpful, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It felt like a proper Gasthof, and the scenery alone makes me want to return.

Getting to the gondola for the ski slopes takes far too long. The service was below average, and the beds were packed too close together with nowhere to put luggage.

A lovely spot with a beautiful view from the restaurant and really good food. The service was very friendly, and dogs are welcome, even large breeds. I'd recommend it if you're after a great meal, a lovely view, and some peace away from civilization.

I stopped for a night during a motorbike tour, on the way to the Tridays event in 2011. The welcome was wholehearted, my room was very clean, and the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good too. I'll be back.
