Haus Schwaighofer

The balcony was a lovely place to sit, with a wide roof overhang that kept it pleasant even in poor weather. Each apartment has a small table, a bench, and two extra chairs, and the table is just big enough for three to eat. Inside, the living room has a large table with four chairs, two sofas, an armchair, and plenty of storage. There's satellite TV, but unfortunately the Dutch channels are locked. There aren't many power outlets by today's standards, so bring a power strip if everyone has a phone. The Wi-Fi is free, password protected, and good. There's a drying room for ski boots downstairs, an uncovered parking space, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The supermarket and ski lift are also close enough to walk to. The photo shows the left side of the house, the upper floor with a balcony, and below that another apartment with a terrace. One photo shows the balcony view, and a third shows the living room and kitchen. The living room is spacious, with a separate bedroom reached from a shared landing. The bathroom and toilet are next to the living room and kitchenette. The two-burner stove is fine for warming food, but cooking is harder: the space is limited, so you can't fit all the pans on it at once. We were given a second bedroom for our son at no extra charge, which was very convenient since we didn't have to make up the living room sofas. The beds are excellent and the duvets very warm. There are plenty of towels, but toilet paper is something you can buy at the supermarket. The tea towels are a bit old and get wet quickly. Upstairs, two apartments share a landing, and each has a bedroom that can only be reached from that landing, which may be limiting. The bedroom and living room can be locked, and there's another toilet on the landing. A stick vacuum is kept in the toilet, but it doesn't reach everywhere. There was quite a bit of dust in the corners and under the beds. We felt the cleaning could have been better, and that's what kept it from earning the last star.

The place was clean and tidy, and the price felt fair for what we got. The landlords were really friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The kitchen had everything we needed, and the apartment was very clean.
