Pension Sonneck

The pension is a Nationalpark SommerCard partner, which saved a lot on attractions and transport around the region. The lady host was very nice and the service was fine. Breakfast had a decent choice, though I'd have liked more vegetables and fresh pastries. Payment by Master or Visa isn't possible, only EC cards. My room was clean and quite nice, with six beds and access to a shared balcony with a beautiful view. It wasn't very spacious. The LCD TV's channels were messed up, but that didn't matter much. The pension sits high above Neukirchen, with a magnificent view across the valley and towards some of Hohe Tauern's highest peaks.

Getting around was difficult, since you practically have to depend on buses and taxis, and often taxis won't come. The owner was angry much of the time and tried to charge us for unreasonable things. We asked for the advertised free internet password and never got it, apparently because the owner wanted the internet to himself. The breakfast was dry, the dinner horrid, and the stay expensive. It also seemed like the beds weren't washed. One of the worst “hotel” experiences I've had. I'd give it 0/5 if I could.
