Alpenhotel Tirolerhof

This was our fourth visit, and we enjoyed every minute. The friendly, helpful and professional team looked after both the 70 year olds and the under 10s equally well, from reception to the dining room and bedrooms. The hotel was spotless and the food excellent. Wouldn’t change a thing. We’ll be back soon.

George’s on-site ski hire was a real bonus, with quality equipment and excellent service. It was easy to change boot sizes after the first day, and our boy switched from skis to snowboard halfway through the week. We stayed over New Year and had a fantastic time. Sandra and George gave us a first-rate welcome, and the rooms, food and staff were excellent. The family put on a wonderful gala dinner, followed at midnight by a spectacular fireworks display done with neighbouring hotels. Thanks to the family and all the staff. The many five-star reviews are deserved, so I won’t repeat too much about the hotel itself. For skiing, Schlick 2000 is worth a look. It’s fairly small, but the scenery is spectacular and the runs are interesting. We spent two days there and four at the glacier. The glacier takes about 30 minutes by bus. The stop is close to the hotel, and we usually got a seat because we boarded near the start of the route. Taking the bus can be a drag, but the hotel makes up for it. On busy days, the first bus may still meet long gondola queues from locals who drove up, so a later, less crowded bus might not get you to the slopes any later. There’s a good amount of skiing at the glacier, mostly blue and red runs. I suspect expert skiers or people who ski a lot might run out of routes. There are also more T-bars than we like.

The room with a glacier view was excellent value for money. We had a really nice ski holiday here and felt very comfortable, so we’d love to return. The hotel was sparkling clean and the staff polite and proactive. Big credit to the master chef, who served a special menu every evening, with impeccable plating and very tasty dishes. Big applause!

Felix deserves special thanks for going above and beyond to help us. We had a great stay at Alpenhotel Tirolerhof, with spotless rooms and pleasant, efficient service. I loved the decor too. I’d definitely recommend it, and we may come back.
