Haus am Gletscher

Really poor place, with very bad conditions.

We happened upon this charming guesthouse while passing through and stayed for three nights. It was peaceful, parking was easy, and the room had comfortable beds and enough space. From the balcony we could see the glacier. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and they were happy to make coffee. I’d forgotten my hairdryer, but they lent me one. The lady was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I never got her name. We didn’t speak German, but managed to understand each other anyway, and had a great stay.

The family who owns the place was lovely, and breakfast was delicious. Everything was great.

For a few days of snowboarding with a friend, a bed and breakfast suited us better than renting an apartment, so we booked three nights at "Haus am Gletscher" (House on the Glacier). It was very good value for the price, and the glacier is close by. The ski bus stop and a really good rental shop are both about a five-minute walk away. It’d also work well as a base for exploring the Stubai Valley. Our room had enough space and was functionally furnished, the mattresses were comfortable, and the small bathroom was perfectly fine. Breakfast included coffee or tea, cornflakes, muesli, rolls or bread, several kinds of sausage, Gouda, packaged jams, honey, and Nutella. The furnishings are a little dated, but at such a reasonable price, that didn’t bother me at all.
