The hill-facing rooms have an amazing view, so that’s a good tip. There are lots of lovely places nearby for hiking, and the location works really well for it. The rooms are comfortable and nice, the kitchen is very good, and the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming.

For the price, it was perfectly okay for one night, and the breakfast was fair too: a few bread rolls, cheese, sausage, butter, and jam. Maybe it’s different in high season. The place felt very dark and old, but the beds and bathroom were very clean. One receptionist didn’t speak German, which I found disappointing in Austria. The woman working the next day was really nice and spoke German well. There’s parking, and Schladming is about a 25-minute drive away without traffic. There’s probably an outdoor pool in summer.
