Stiftshotel Ossiach

I went to an event here but didn't stay overnight. It was really well organized, with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Everything seemed to run smoothly, from the tech to the support on site. I felt comfortable the whole time and would be happy to come to another event.

We slept so well in the very comfortable beds, and it was wonderfully quiet at night. The room had been renovated, was spacious and nicely equipped, and had a lake view. The whole place was very clean. The location right by the lake is hard to beat, with restaurants and things to do a short walk away. Breakfast was generous, parking was free, and the staff were extremely friendly. We'll be back for sure.

One thing to plan around: most restaurants nearby, including the monastery hotel's restaurant, are closed Sunday through Wednesday. We ended up searching online for ages and driving quite far to find somewhere to eat. The room itself was new, roomy, nicely furnished and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the thick monastery walls kept it so quiet that we couldn't hear anything. Breakfast was fine, and the server was friendly and attentive. The younger server seemed a little lost, though. The price was reasonable.

The breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing, with very little choice, and it wasn't topped up on its own. Still, it was a small drawback in an otherwise truly special hotel in the historic abbey setting. The staff went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable, and they even left me a little birthday gift in my room. Thanks again!
