Hotel Restaurant tauernhex

The Kaiserschmarrn was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the food was excellent across the board. I had a wonderful dinner here with friends. The host was friendly and gracious, and the atmosphere was great. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

We stopped here while travelling between cities, and the burger was literally the most delicious one we’ve ever had, faultless. The staff were so nice and the place feels cosy. The other dishes were great too, but you should go for the burger 🍔

The takeaway pizza has been great every time. We also ate in and had the pulled pork burger and cordon bleu. The meat was the most tender I’d had in a long while. The food was great, even if the restaurant is a little easy to miss since it’s inside a hotel.

We came as a family on a warm summer evening and were disappointed. I specifically asked for tap water, but they charged us 4 euros. I know charging for tap water is common in Austria, but 4 EUR feels excessive. When I raised it, the waiter said she wasn’t the boss and couldn’t do anything. The rest of the meal wasn’t impressive either. The adult burger was okay, though not something everyone would enjoy. The kids couldn’t eat their burgers because the taste was too uncommon, and there weren’t many other burger options for children. I’d recommend charging less for water.
