We save Miralago for our closest friends. It has a personal feel that's hard to find, and the rooms are lovely, with the warmth of visiting your Austrian grand aunt. You still get that classic Austrian spirit in a gorgeous spot by the Worthersee. The food and wine are incredible. On a nice day, dining outside feels private: the tables are spaced apart, the view is wonderful, and everything is quiet and relaxed. There are fancier, overrated places at Worthersee where it's crowded and noisy and the value is worse. Service here doesn't follow the usual hotel routine. The staff are extremely nice, but orders can take time and sometimes something gets forgotten. Things work out fine if you have a little patience and enjoy the south-Austrian mood. Honestly, it's more fun when everything isn't over-perfect. The things that matter most at Miralago are more than perfect.

We visited to discuss plans for a wedding. The owner was welcoming, knowledgeable, and very forthcoming. It's a tiny hotel, more like a five-star bed and breakfast, in an amazing location with priceless views.

The food was outstanding, and the view from this lovely spot right on the lake is amazing. It's not the best place for swimming, though.

The location is gorgeous, but the staff were only average at best. At times it was hard to get a drink, and the event planning didn't make the most of the setting.
