Platzwirt

The spa is a lovely, recently renovated space with plenty of chairs to relax in. Guests can use it for free, with a regular sauna, an infrared room and a Finnish steam sauna. Our room was spacious and very nice, with a couch, big bed, table, TV and balcony overlooking the mountains. The bathroom was modern and clean, with both a regular shower and an overhead rain shower. Everything was cleaned thoroughly each day and fresh towels were provided. The hotel is right across from the church in the village centre, so the location is excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant serves dinner in the evenings, which can be added to the room charge for +20€ per day. It had everything we needed, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was included, and finding two bottles of local juice in the room was a great touch. The room was nice and there’s a lift, but there’s no air conditioning or fridge, which wasn’t great in the July heat.

The staff were so kind, and the food was amazing. I’m gluten free, and as soon as they learned that, they brought me delicious gluten free food just like everyone else’s. They understood the need to keep the food separate and prepared it without contamination. The place was clean and comfortable, and they sorted out any problem we had. I highly recommend staying here with family, friends or your partner. Enjoy your stay!

After many visits to Rauris, we finally tried the Hotel Platzwirt restaurant, and we’ll be going back. The staff were fantastic, the food delicious, and the portions huge. My wife’s Wiener schnitzel was the biggest portion I’ve ever seen. I chose the four-course set menu, which was €18 when I’m writing this. Drinks were reasonably priced: 25cl of white wine and 50cl of beer were each €3.80, while small soft drinks were €2.30. The salad buffet was lovely, though we didn’t need much after those portions. The restaurant was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. 10/10 in every area, well worth a visit.
