Hotel & Art Kristiana

Our friends and I had six wonderful days of skiing in Saalbach, the best ski holiday ever! Skicircus is a five-star ski resort, and Hotel & Art Kristiana sits right in the middle, very close to the lifts. Our hosts were lovely and clearly happy to have us. The food was excellent, and the clean, well-equipped rooms had everything we needed. Breakfast and dinner service was very elegant. Many thanks to the whole team at the Hotel!

The skiing around Saalbach is a big part of why we keep coming back. The Skicircus connects Hinterglemm, Leogang, and Fieberbrunn, with well-kept pistes, modern lifts, plenty of mountain stops, and runs for different ability levels. Zell am See is easy to reach by bus and worth a visit. In town there’s a friendly, lively après-ski scene, from noisy but not rowdy bars to the fancier hotel bars. We rented from SkiPro, which was almost across from Eva. It’s a simple shop, but the staff were helpful and accommodating. Since we left our skis and boots there, it was only a three-minute walk from the hotel in the morning, and we could change back into walking boots at the end of the day before heading to the bar. This was our third holiday at Hotel Kristiana, and once again we had a wonderful stay. The family run hotel is handy for two of Saalbach’s three main lifts. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The smart restaurant served superb food, thanks to Helmut. The restaurant team have always been cheerful, friendly, attentive, and well trained. The small, cosy bar has been in Dora’s care each year, and she’s lovely. Johaan, Barbara, and Katherine make us feel welcome and valued every time. They’re friendly, courteous, and efficient, and we couldn’t ask for nicer hosts. The hotel also has a comfortable boot room. Our friends enjoyed the sauna and described it as clean, relaxing, and great for unwinding after skiing. My husband and I don’t use saunas, so that’s their second-hand take. We’re already looking forward to another week at Hotel Kristiana next year.

Kathrin made sure our questions were all answered, and we had a great time in Saalbach. The rooms were nice, the food was good, and everything was super clean. We stayed a few nights and would definitely come back.

The food was probably the standout, it was really good throughout. The family put in a lot of effort and it shows. We were there to ski, and the hotel is close to the two main lifts while still being away from the noisy areas. It was very comfortable, with an excellent boot room.
